the best book idea like ever

So I was scrolling down Tumblr, you know reblogging cute cat gifs and punny textposts. Until I saw the picture above. This made me stop and think. How can someone really write this story? Its gonna end up being first person because the author cannot write something that is relevant to everybody that reads the story and it would be pretty impossible to write a full length novel with a narrator just talking about you, about you. But its every readers dream. To not be the one falling in love with a fictional character just this once, but to have that fictional character fall in love with you. After thinking about it i continued to scroll down to find comments to the picture.

User, taking-the-tardis-to-asgard actually wrote the ending to the story completely in 2nd person.

“So I guess this is it, isn’t it? There are no more chapters, right? You said we were getting close and that was a while ago.”

I stared up into the sky, it was the same old sky there had always been, except for some rainclouds that hadn’t been there a few minutes ago. It wasn’t raining, but they were still floating up there, grey and dismal.

You begin to ask me something.

“Don’t ask me how I know, I just do. Things just feel really final right now, like the downward slope is starting to level out. Eventually… We’ll hit the back cover, right?”

I sat down on a bench- had that been there a few minutes ago? It was hard to tell.

“Did you say yes? I think I heard you. Your voice keeps getting harder to hear.”

Thunder rumbled, but… It wasn’t like the thunder I’m used to. It sounded like you, and it sounded sad. From one of the clouds, a single drop of rain fell on the grainy wood of the bench.

“… You’re crying, aren’t you? I’m sorry, I’m really sorry. I wish I could change this. I wish I could reach where you are.”

Thunder rolled again, and behind it was a voice. Your voice.

“Me? I’ll be fine, I think. I don’t know if this has ever happened before. I don’t really know what happens when you… close the book.”

You ask me if I’m afraid.

And oddly, I’m not.

“No, actually. Because… Whatever happens to me when you close the cover… You can always open the book up again, right?” and that’s when the answer hits me, the realization jolting me to stand again. “That’s it, isn’t it? You can open it back up. The words won’t change, but I’ll still be here. You can meet me all over again, and I can meet you, and everything we have will come back.”

It’s raining now, and the clouds have merged together, and in them, for the first time… I see you.

You are the most beautiful person I have ever seen in my entire life.

You’re crying, but it’s quiet, and maybe that was the sound of your tears hitting paper.

I realize that we don’t have a lot of time.

“Listen- before it’s all over- I want you to know that everything, all of this… Even being over, it was worth it. It was worth it to meet you, to get to know you. Even if when you close that cover and I disappear- it was all worth it. I love you.”

You love me too, I know it, I can feel it, just like for a moment I can feel what it would be like to hold your hand.

There is a very long pause, and I realize you’re prolonging what has to happen.

“You can do it.”

For the first time, you have to be the hero. You have to close the book so we can keep going. And I believe in you.

The sky gets darker, slowly, but then it gets light again, and your face is still up in those clouds. You open your mouth and for the first time I HEAR you, not just feel what you’re saying or understand you in my own head, your voice comes through the pages in your world and into the reality of mine, and it reverberates and I can hear every little nuance, down to the hitch from you crying.

“I’ll never forget you,” you say. “I’ll come back soon.”

The end.

And thenn a few comments later... user bigmouth12349 wrote the beginning to the story...

I don’t know you, okay? You’re a stranger to me. I didn’t ask for you to peek your nose into my business, now did I? No, no I did not. How would you like it if someone suddenly appeared in your life?

Let me tell you what you’re going to do. You’re going to shut this book right now. Let the cover rest on the title page, and leave me enveloped in my own dark little world.

What? I can’t understand you, but I can sense what you mean. You want to know if I like being alone here, in the dark. Well, I mean, it’s all I’ve ever known. Until you came along, there was only me, existing in these pages. Why would I wish for something when I’ve known nothing else?

I have to admit, though … The light you’re reading from feels nice. I’ve never seen my world in quite this way before. The stark blacks of the letters are taking shape, becoming a home for me to live in even as you read.

Maybe I’ll let you stay for awhile. Maybe I’ll enjoy this light for a little longer with you.

I REALLY loved how they both wrote their stories and how its like including you in the story and everythinhg and its like,

Welcome to Night Vale

So lately i have been listening to the podcast Welcome To Night Vale.
Its basically a radio station in a mysterious town called Night Vale. A desert community where the sun is hot, the moon is beautiful, and where the mysterious lights pass over head as the residents try to pretend that the lights don't exist. Cecil, the news reporter talks about the current events that are happening in the town of Night Vale. Such as the new resident that has come to Night Vale, Carlos. With beautiful and perfect hair Carlos is a scientist, says Cecil. What does he want from the town? Cecil recalls that at the town meeting Carlos (with his perfect hair and straight teeth like a military cemetery) says that Night Vale is one of the most scientifically interesting cities in the USA, and has come to study just what is going on in Night Vale. Another story covered by Cecil was that a new Dog Park has opened. The City Council of Night Vale says that dogs are not allowed in the Dog Park, people are not allowed in the Dog Park and to ignore the hooded figures in the Dog Park. Lastly, Cecil talks to us about what precautions to take when you are talking your kids out to the Scrub Lands and Sandwastes. He tells us to make sure we give them enough water, and locate a shade tree. Also, that we should be aware of the colors of the helicopters flying over head. If the helicopter is black, its probably the World Government- not a good day for play. Are the helicopters blue? Then that's the Sheriffs Secret Police. They will take good care of your children and hardly ever take them. Do the helicopters have complex murals with many different colors on them depicting birds of prey? No one knows what those helicopters are, or what they want. Do not play when you see those helicopters, lock your doors, and cover your ears to blot out the screaming as you wait for the Sheriffs Secret Police to leave a carnation on your front door step. And that Gatorade is basically soda and to feed your kids orange slices when they are hungry.

You can listen to Welcome to Night Vale on Podcasts from iTunes (and its free!!). The producers of this podcast series are Common Place Books, and they release a new podcast twice every month.  Welcome to Night Vale, with its amazing weather segments and very convincing advertisements, is something that I would recommend everyone to listen to.
(This is all what happens in the first podcast)

Hey guys..

So I have to write this blog post for journalism, and it my elective thingy but I also take PE in the afternoon as a elective too. So its like I take journalism in the morning and like PE in the evening. The people seeing my blog are basically just my journalism class people so there isn't much to say because I know most of them and like they are probably judging me because I am not writing anything good and that this all filler talk so that it looks like I actually put some effort into this and stuff... see this looks like a paragraph so I think this will be socially acceptable if someone just glances at it... but seriously guys I  really don't want to write this at the same time I really do. I feel like John from Sherlock because like his therapist told him to write a blog and then he started to write what Sherlock is doing, but I don't have a therapist or a high functioning sociopath as a best friend (Hailey Grims is not a high functioning sociopath D:) ew thats a ugly smiley face D: there thats better. anywayss so like he was blogging about Sherlock and then Sherlock was all like johnn whyy are you doing that stoopp!!!! Then Johns like whaaat its getting soo many page views and then they got famous and then Sherlock died. (But he didn't its a long story why didn't you watch Sherlock close this tab and watch it right now). so yeah... riya and shanti and cohelly made their blogs looking super cool and like mine looks bleh.. ITS SUPPOSED TO LOOK S P O O K Y because of the ghosts and like its october and like yeh... Ti- I mean "Hailey Grims"  is writing about THOR: THE DARK WORLD IM SO EXCITED FOR IT but hailey is like 10x more excited i mean she is doing a blog post about so obviously she is super excited for it. (She also can draw and she drew Thor and Loki AND ITS FREAKING AMAZING TELL HER TO POST HER ART ON HER BLOG NOW) Naina is writing about her bucket list and shanti and cohelly are doing a music blog and riya and usha are doing fandom things soo yeah .
and i need a picture so
this is the sun and its adorable
okay bye.
